26-2-2024 (BANGKOK) Reports from Thai media indicate that local police responded to a report on February 25 regarding a male body discovered in an abandoned restaurant at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had suffered an unidentified gunshot wound to the head, marked by three bullet holes. Blood stains and brain fragments were found behind the restaurant, suggesting a violent incident, with the body seemingly shot and then dragged into the building.
Although the motive and perpetrator are yet to be established, a tattoo parlour in Pattaya reportedly identified the victim as a Taiwanese national who had visited their establishment prior to the tragic event. Descriptions of the deceased include multiple tattoos, the word “Luo” on his arm, a gold ring with silver patterns on the little finger of his right hand, and a gold ring on the middle finger of his left hand. The body lacked identification documents, possessing only 3,181 baht in cash.

Further investigations on February 26 by Thai authorities confirmed the identity of the deceased as 44-year-old Taiwanese national Shih Mou Chiang. Chiang was the subject of an arrest warrant in Taiwan related to charges of robbery and possession of firearms, prompting his escape to Thailand. Law enforcement discovered approximately half a kilogram of ketamine packaged in a white plastic bag at the crime scene, seized as evidence.
Taiwan’s Criminal Bureau corroborated the victim’s identity, clarifying that Shih Mou Chiang was a wanted fugitive implicated in a robbery case and firearm possession. His flight to Thailand on February 8 followed the issuance of the arrest warrant by the Taoyuan District Prosecutor’s Office. The full details of the case and the events leading up to the fatal shooting are expected to surface as investigations progress.
Thai police are actively pursuing contacts with the deceased’s relatives and friends. Based on available leads, they have identified the suspect vehicle and initiated investigations into the matter.
