24-6-2023 (HANOI) South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol concluded his fruitful three-day state visit to Vietnam, as reported by the Vietnam News Agency. During his visit, President Yoon engaged in a summit meeting with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong, resulting in the signing of 17 agreements on various issues aimed at strengthening economic and security cooperation between the two nations.
The summit meeting, held in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi, showcased the shared commitment of both leaders to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. President Yoon highlighted the significance of expanding bilateral trade, emphasizing that it has become even more crucial in the face of ongoing global challenges.
One of the key objectives set during the meeting was the ambitious target of achieving $150 billion in bilateral trade between South Korea and Vietnam by the year 2030. This ambitious goal reflects the shared determination of both nations to foster mutually beneficial economic growth and enhance the prosperity of their peoples.
The agreements signed encompass a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, science and technology, energy, and culture. These agreements serve as a solid foundation for further collaboration and cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam, opening up new avenues for economic partnerships and promoting mutual development.
