14-12-2024 (SEOUL) The National Assembly delivered a stinging rebuke to President Yoon Suk Yeol’s leadership by voting to impeach him over his controversial attempt to impose martial law.
The watershed moment unfolded on Saturday when lawmakers voted decisively in favour of impeachment, with 204 supporting the motion whilst 85 voted against. Three members abstained from the vote, and eight ballots were deemed invalid.
