13-11-2024 (SEOUL) South Korean actor Song Jae Rim, known for his memorable performances in numerous television dramas, has tragically passed away at his residence in Seoul’s Seongdong District, law enforcement officials confirmed today.
The 39-year-old performer was discovered unresponsive in his flat, prompting an immediate investigation by the Seongdong Police Station. Authorities discovered a two-page manuscript at the premises, though its contents have not been disclosed to the public.
Whilst investigators are meticulously examining the circumstances surrounding his death, preliminary findings suggest no evidence of criminal involvement, according to a police spokesperson. The precise cause of death remains under investigation.
Song, who captivated audiences with his breakthrough role in the critically acclaimed 2012 historical drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun”, had built an impressive career spanning nearly 15 years in South Korea’s entertainment industry. His journey began with a compelling debut in the 2009 film “Actresses”, leading to a string of successful television projects including “Two Weeks” and “Unkind Ladies”.
Most recently, the talented actor had showcased his versatility in the drama series “Queen Woo”, further cementing his reputation as a distinguished performer in South Korean television.
A private memorial service is scheduled for 14 November at noon local time at a funeral facility in Seoul’s Yeouido district, though final arrangements for interment are yet to be announced.
