18-1-2024 (SINGAPORE) Transport Minister S Iswaran was spotted arriving at the State Courts on Thursday morning (Jan 18), amidst an inquiry conducted by Singapore’s anti-graft agency. With a political career spanning nearly three decades, the minister became the focus of an investigation by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) after being arrested on Jul 11. He was subsequently released on bail.
Hotel Properties Limited managing director, Ong Beng Seng, was also apprehended on the same day. Ong, a notable figure credited with bringing Formula 1 racing to Singapore, faces similar investigations.
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau has kept details of the inquiry into Iswaran under wraps, leaving the public unaware of the specific allegations or the amount of bail set for the minister.
