10-6-2023 (SINGAPORE) A 16-year-old boy has been charged with criminal intimidation after allegedly brandishing a knife and pointing it at his victim, as revealed in a district court hearing on Saturday.
According to court documents, the teenager, whose identity is protected due to his age, allegedly aimed to cause alarm to his victim near Block 427 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 at approximately 10:30 PM on Friday.
A video circulating on the Instagram page “Singapore Incidents” captured the incident, showing several police officers confronting an individual in the middle of a busy road, resulting in traffic disruptions. The person then proceeded to run against the flow of traffic, with the police in pursuit.

The court has ordered the boy to be remanded at the Complex Medical Centre in Changi Prison for a day to undergo a medical examination. The case is scheduled to be further heard on June 23.
If convicted of criminal intimidation, the offender may face imprisonment for up to two years, in addition to a fine.
