9-3-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A Singaporean actor has reportedly been arrested by Malaysia’s religious authorities, as per reports from Malaysian media.
The actor, accompanied by a Malaysian actress, was apprehended at her condominium in Kuala Lumpur on March 9, according to sources, with the arrest conducted by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi). The arrest seems to have been initiated based on a public tip-off.
Both the actor and actress were actively engaged in filming a drama at the time of the arrest.
Religious authorities, faced with the challenge of entering the condominium, sought the assistance of firefighters. The drama unfolded around 10:30 pm on March 8 when Jawi personnel arrived outside the unit. An unnamed source noted, “It is understood that the male actor has been seen entering the house of the female actress several times.”
Allegedly, when the actor and actress declined to open the door, Jawi officers reached out to Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue department for aid. It was only when firefighters threatened to force entry that the actor reportedly agreed to open the door, culminating after nearly three hours of waiting outside the unit.
Subsequently, both the actor and actress were taken to a Jawi office for processing.
