9-8-2023 (SINGAPORE) The bustling city-state of Singapore continues to attract global attention, with a remarkable influx of Chinese mainland tourists in July. According to the latest statistics unveiled by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), an impressive total of 231,330 visitors from the Chinese mainland graced Singapore’s shores during the month.
This notable figure marks a substantial doubling from the preceding month, where June saw 113,290 Chinese mainland tourists. As a result, Singapore set a new record for the highest number of Chinese mainland visitors entering the country in a single month this year.
The Chinese mainland occupies the top position among the markets contributing to Singapore’s tourism, showcasing its resounding popularity. Trailing behind were Indonesia, Australia, India, and Malaysia, solidifying the diverse international appeal that Singapore holds.
The cumulative effect of this surge in tourism was witnessed in the overall visitor arrivals to Singapore. The city-state welcomed a grand total of 1.42 million visitors in July, marking an impressive increase of 25.6 percent from the 1.13 million recorded in June, according to the STB.
