26-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A chilling discovery sent shockwaves through Taman Kota Kubang Labu on Sunday (25 June) when renovation workers stumbled upon the body of an unidentified man in his 40s, with his hands and feet tightly bound.
The grisly find occurred around 3 pm at a residential property undergoing renovation. The homeowner, a 34-year-old man, shared that the workers had detected a foul odor emanating from the first floor since Saturday (24 June), initially assuming it to be animal remains.
Summoning his courage, the homeowner decided to investigate further. As he opened the door to the first floor, his eyes were drawn to a brown stain on the floor, and to his horror, he spotted a human foot. Immediately shaken, he wasted no time in dialing the police, recounting the incident to China Press.
Remarkably, the renovation work at the property continued despite the discovery of the body. However, the homeowner now contemplates whether he and his family can continue living in the house, considering the potential fear it may evoke. “We’re uncertain about residing in the house given my parents’ apprehension,” he added.
Assistant Commissioner Amran Dolah, the Tumpat district police chief, stated that based on the state of the corpse, it is likely the victim had died at least three days prior. The body was then transported to Tumpat Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The police are currently treating the case as a potential homicide under Section 302 of the Penal Code, as investigations unfold.
