19-1-2024 (SINGAPORE) Tensions flared at a Petronas petrol station near the Second Link in Johor Bahru (JB) as a group of drivers of Singapore-registered vehicles, primarily a Honda Shuttle, found themselves embroiled in a heated confrontation. The incident, which took place on Saturday evening (Jan 13) at around 10 pm, escalated due to one driver taking an unusually long time to pump petrol.
According to a video shared on Facebook by SG Road Vigilante, the driver of the Honda Shuttle was reportedly taking over 15 minutes to complete the refueling process. Frustrated by the delay, the driver behind him grew impatient and began shouting at the Honda Shuttle driver, urging him to expedite the process.
The situation quickly escalated when an older man, believed to be the father of the Honda Shuttle driver, intervened and confronted the impatient driver. The two individuals exchanged heated words and vulgarities, with the father and son duo even challenging the other driver to a physical altercation.
Netizens, in the comment section, criticized the driver who confronted the father-son duo for his impatience, noting that long queues at petrol stations in JB were not uncommon. Some referred to both drivers’ actions as embarrassing and suggested they find a more appropriate venue to resolve their differences.
