8-1-2024 (SINGAPORE) Twin brothers Jacky Chan and John, who had been living separate lives for 31 years, have finally found each other with the help of a friend. The emotional encounter took place when one of Jacky’s friends spotted someone at a pub who bore an uncanny resemblance to him. Little did they know, it was his long-lost twin brother, John.
After a video call confirmed their suspicions, the brothers couldn’t hold back their emotions. “Once we saw each other’s faces, we cried like a bitch,” Jacky said, overwhelmed by the realization.
Born in a Malaysian hospital, Jacky was raised in Singapore, while John grew up in Kuala Lumpur. Although Jacky knew about his twin brother, John had no knowledge of his existence until now.
“To him, he found out that he had a brother. To me, I finally found my brother…who I had been searching for for 11 years,” Jacky shared, expressing his joy at the reunion.
Despite their different upbringings, the twins discovered they had shared interests and backgrounds. Both had a love for beer and durians, and they were brought up in Chinese families. Presently, Jacky works as a head barber, while John has ventured into entrepreneurship and has a family of his own.
The serendipitous meeting occurred during the Dongzhi Festival, a time traditionally associated with family reunions. With their bond reignited, the brothers are now determined to locate their birth parents.
Remarkably, there is no resentment between them. They are grateful for the love and care they received from their adoptive families. This newfound brotherhood has added a unique and special dimension to their lives. Despite the years of separation, their connection as brothers remains strong, and they cherish the opportunity to share stories and experiences.
