4-7-2024 (KATHMANDU) A Saurya Airlines aircraft met with a catastrophic accident during its takeoff procedure at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The incident has sent shockwaves through Nepal’s aviation community and beyond, with reports of multiple casualties emerging from the crash site.
TIA Spokesperson Subash Jha confirmed that the ill-fated flight, bound for Pokhara, suffered a runway excursion during its takeoff attempt. The aircraft, carrying 19 individuals including crew members, veered off course in what would prove to be a fatal deviation from its intended flight path.
