2-1-2025 (NORILSK) A harrowing incident unfolded this morning at Norilsk Airport when an S7 Airlines passenger jet veered off the runway during landing operations, prompting immediate safety concerns and a full investigation by aviation authorities.
The aircraft, operating under the banner of S7 Airlines – formerly known as Siberia Airlines – was carrying 79 passengers when it encountered difficulties at approximately 8:00 GMT. The incident occurred as the aircraft was completing its final landing manoeuvre and attempting to turn onto the taxiway at the remote Siberian airport.
Officials from the West Siberian Transportation Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that whilst the aircraft departed from its intended path, all passengers and crew members emerged unscathed from the incident.
