24-6-2023 (MOSCOW) In a swift and unexpected maneuver, Russian military helicopters have launched an attack on a convoy of Wagner mercenaries, who were already more than halfway on their route towards Moscow, according to a report by Reuters. The strike occurred shortly after the mercenaries captured the southern city of Rostov-on-Don during the night.
A journalist from Reuters witnessed the army helicopters engaging an armed Wagner column as it advanced beyond the city of Voronezh. The convoy consisted of troop carriers and at least one tank mounted on a flatbed truck.
Voronezh, situated along the 1,100-kilometer (680-mile) highway connecting Rostov to Moscow, is a pivotal point in the mercenaries’ journey.
