3-11-2023 (KHARKIV) – Russian drones launched attacks on civilian targets in and around Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, triggering fires in the early hours of Friday, November 3. While the attacks caused damage to civilian infrastructure, there was no immediate information available regarding casualties.
Oleh Synehubov, the governor of Kharkiv region, communicated the news via Telegram, revealing that the attacks took place after midnight in the city in the northeast of Ukraine and also struck a locality in the region.
Kharkiv’s Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, assured the public that the fire was being brought under control, but provided no further details regarding the extent of the damage or potential injuries.
The air raid alert that had been activated in Kharkiv and other central regions was lifted approximately 90 minutes after the initial reports. As of now, there is no additional information available concerning the situation on the ground.
Despite the lift of the alert, regions in the west of Ukraine maintained their state of alertness. The Ukrainian air force reported the presence of Russian drones in the airspace of three regions.
Maksym Kozytskyi, the governor of Lviv region, located near the Polish border, informed that anti-aircraft units were activated in response to the potential threat.
