9-6-2023 (NEW YORK) Robinhood Markets, the popular online brokerage, announced on Friday that it will be delisting three cryptocurrency tokens from its platform. This decision comes shortly after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) initiated a crackdown on major cryptocurrency exchanges.
Starting from June 27, customers of Robinhood will no longer be able to trade Solana, Cardano, or Polygon on the platform, according to the company’s official statement.
The move by Robinhood follows recent regulatory actions taken by the SEC against various cryptocurrency exchanges. The SEC has been scrutinizing the cryptocurrency industry for potential violations of securities laws and investor protection measures.
