0-9-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) On Tuesday night (September 19), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim embarked on a journey to New York to participate in the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Accompanying him on this important diplomatic mission were his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and other members of the Malaysian delegation.
Anwar took to Facebook to share his intentions for the UNGA gathering, where he will engage with world leaders on pressing global issues. He expressed his commitment to representing Malaysia and shedding light on the nation’s initiatives in addressing the climate crisis, with a particular focus on achieving the 2030 Agenda. He also emphasized Malaysia’s roadmap under the Malaysia Madani framework, which encompasses various critical global matters.
In his Facebook post, Anwar stated, “Pray for the mission of the Malaysian delegation to go smoothly, InsyaAllah.”
This marks Anwar’s inaugural appearance at the annual UNGA event, where he is scheduled to deliver Malaysia’s National Statement during the General Debate, scheduled for Friday (September 22). His presence at the UNGA underscores Malaysia’s commitment to participating in international dialogues and addressing pressing global challenges on the world stage.
