During their visit, the president and the ministers meticulously examined various rooms, including the Media Center in JCC’s Hall B and the JCC Plenary Hall, which will serve as the primary venue for the ASEAN Summit’s key meetings.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, President Jokowi expressed his satisfaction with the progress of preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Summit, set to bring together heads of state from 11 ASEAN countries and nine partner nations from September 5 to 7, 2023.
“We are all set for the ASEAN Summit, and the remaining preparations will be completed within the next one or two days,” he assured.
In response to inquiries about minor issues that required attention, he pointed out the need to raise some of the participating countries’ flags higher.
Meanwhile, President Jokowi confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of receiving confirmation of the attendance of various heads of state at the ASEAN Summit.
He also highlighted the significant agendas for this year’s summit, with a particular emphasis on the economic sector in the region.
“There are numerous agendas, but the primary focus will be on the economy, as ASEAN is at the heart of economic growth,” he stated.
Following the interview session, President Jokowi continued his inspection of other areas within the venue.
Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2023 aims to provide opportunities for ASEAN to actively engage and propose ideas and solutions for regional peace and prosperity.
