16-10-2024 (JAKARTA) President-elect Prabowo Subianto has extended an invitation to the current Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, to retain her position in his upcoming administration. This development comes after a series of high-level discussions between the two, focusing on strategies to bolster the nation’s fiscal health and enhance the Finance Ministry’s capabilities.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Sri Mulyani revealed that she had engaged in multiple conversations with the incoming president. “Mr Prabowo has been consistently emphatic about his vision for state finances,” she said. “He has expressed strong support for reinforcing our revenue collection mechanisms and expanding our spending capacity.”
