13-4-2024 (BANGKOK) A recent viral video clip shared by the Facebook page “I Sor Khayi Kkhao” has stirred widespread attention, capturing the moment a politician’s husband made a shocking discovery upon returning to his rural home in Sukhothai, Thailand. In the footage, the 64-year-old man is seen entering his bedroom, where he finds a saffron robe, typically worn by Buddhist monks. To his dismay, he uncovers his wife, the politician, in a compromising situation with a monk hidden under the blanket beside her.
Amidst the husband’s furious interrogation, questioning the duo’s happiness, his wife pleads for him to stop, claiming he has no right to intervene. The husband’s suspicions of his wife’s infidelity prompted his unannounced return from Bangkok.
Subsequently, it was reported that the husband severed ties with the female politician, while the 24-year-old monk left the monkhood and is currently in hiding. In a televised appearance post-incident, the disgruntled husband, a wealthy property developer, recounted his five-and-a-half-hour journey from Bangkok, driven by suspicions arising from his failed attempts to reach his wife.
The monk, despite being caught in the act, insisted that nothing inappropriate had occurred, attributing the situation to misunderstandings. However, ongoing investigations, prompted by the viral video, have cast a spotlight on the politician’s conduct. The Democratic Party has initiated an inquiry into the matter, led by party leader Chalermchai Sri-on, with a strict three-day timeline for completion.
The party has pledged expulsion for the politician if evidence substantiates allegations of an affair with her adopted son, the monk.
