25-9-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A dramatic confrontation between police and suspected criminals in the early hours of this morning has left one man dead in Kampung Baru Kundang, near Rawang. The incident, which occurred around 2 am, involved a shootout between a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and a group of individuals believed to be wanted criminals.
According to preliminary reports, the altercation began when the suspects, travelling in a Nissan Grand Livina multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), allegedly refused to comply with police orders to stop their vehicle. The situation quickly escalated when the occupants of the MPV reportedly opened fire on the police officers.
In response to the immediate threat, the CID team returned fire. During the exchange, one suspect was fatally shot, while several others were successfully apprehended by the authorities.
