30-3-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysian police shot dead five armed robbers during an encounter at Putra Heights. Sources indicate that the individuals were linked to a string of at least 50 robberies across the Klang Valley region.
The shootout, which took place around 11:30 pm on Friday (March 29), resulted in the recovery of two firearms.
Confirming the incident, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated, “We will be calling for a press conference soon where we will divulge more information on this matter.”
According to initial reports, a police team noticed a vehicle behaving suspiciously and attempted to conduct an inspection. However, the suspects disregarded commands to stop, instead accelerating and opening fire at the police. The situation escalated as the suspects’ vehicle collided with the rear of a patrol vehicle, prompting an exchange of gunfire.
