26-1-2024 (MANILA) The Philippines recorded a trade deficit of US$4.01 billion for December, marking its narrowest gap in four months, according to government data released on Friday (Jan 26).
The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that imports in December decreased by 5.1% to $9.8 billion compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, exports experienced a marginal decline of 0.5%, marking its slowest drop since showing an increase in August, amounting to $5.8 billion.
