1-2-2024 (PENNSYLVANIA) A shocking incident has unfolded in Pennsylvania, as a man has been arrested after allegedly killing his father and posting a video of the decapitation on YouTube. The gruesome video, which has since been removed, featured the suspect expressing right-wing conspiracy theories and referring to his father as a traitor. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about online extremism.
The suspect, identified as Justin Mohn, 32, was apprehended by authorities approximately 100 miles away from the crime scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and possessing an instrument of crime with intent. The victim, Michael Mohn, was reported to be 68 years old. Mohn was denied bail and arraigned in court early Wednesday.
In the disturbing YouTube video titled “Mohn’s Militia – Call To Arms For American Patriots,” Justin Mohn can be seen wearing gloves and holding his father’s decapitated head in a plastic bag. The video also shows the head being placed in a cooking pot. During the 14-minute video, Mohn accuses his father, who was a federal employee for 20 years, of being a traitor and expresses violent sentiments towards federal officials. He also targets President Joe Biden’s administration, the Black Lives Matter movement, the LGBTQ community, and antifa activists.
YouTube swiftly removed the video, citing its policies against graphic violence and violent extremism. A spokesperson for the platform stated that Mohn’s channel was terminated in accordance with their guidelines, and they are actively working to prevent any re-uploads of the video.
Further investigation into Mohn’s background revealed that he had filed multiple lawsuits against federal agencies, including the U.S. government, in the past. He claimed that these agencies were responsible for his student loan debt and alleged discrimination. However, the court dismissed his claims, labeling them as speculative and without factual basis. Mohn also filed a lawsuit against his former employer, Progressive Insurance, alleging wrongful termination and sex discrimination. The court ruled against him in that case as well.
