2-1-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) The actions of a woman believed to be a tourist from China, who was caught defecating in the yard of a homestay in Kea Farm here recently, have sparked anger among the local residents. The incident, captured by closed-circuit television (CCTV) at one of the homestays, shows the woman leaving her feces on the road before hastily leaving the scene.
According to a local resident, Mohd. Hisham Rahman, 35, the woman’s actions tarnish the image of well-behaved Chinese tourists in this popular tourism destination in Pahang.
“Because of one woman’s actions, others are also affected. It’s inconceivable that there are no toilets in the area, especially since they are right in the yard of a homestay. It’s unreasonable if the homestay owner refuses to let the woman use the toilet if she really needed it,” he said in a Facebook post today.
The CCTV footage, which went viral on the Info Cameron Highlands Group on Facebook, has been shared more than 41 times, with over 200 comments from the public.

Meanwhile, Nurul Aina Natasya Isa, 29, remarked that the friend of the woman seen trying to shield the CCTV’s view while her friend defecated was equally “lacking in intelligence.”
She stated that both women, who appeared to be young, gave the impression that Chinese tourists, on average, are not shy about defecating in open areas.
“If before this, we only heard and saw such videos happening abroad, this time it happened only in Cameron Highlands. It paints a negative picture of China,” she said.
