This groundbreaking collaboration aims to captivate audiences with imaginative storytelling and cutting-edge animation.
Under the partnership, John Lasseter, the renowned former animation head of Walt Disney Co and co-founder of Pixar, will assume a pivotal role in overseeing the production of these films. Lasseter, who joined Skydance Animation in 2019 following a leave of absence from Disney, brings with him a wealth of experience and creative genius. He is widely recognized for his instrumental contributions to beloved animated classics such as “Toy Story” and “Cars.”

Skydance Animation, which has previously partnered with Apple TV+, including on the well-received animated film “Luck,” will now focus its talents exclusively on crafting captivating stories for Netflix’s global audience.

Following the release of “Spellbound,” viewers can look forward to the delightful buddy comedy “Pookoo” in 2025. This heartwarming story chronicles the adventures of a small woodland creature and a majestic bird, creating a bond that transcends their differences.
In addition to these eagerly anticipated films, Skydance Animation, headquartered in Los Angeles and Madrid, has several other exciting projects in the pipeline. Audiences can anticipate the release of “Ray Gunn,” directed by the acclaimed Brad Bird, known for his work on the beloved film “Ratatouille.” Furthermore, an untitled Jack and the Beanstalk project, helmed by Rich Moore of “Zootopia” fame, promises to bring a fresh twist to a timeless tale.
