11-3-2024 (LOS ANGELES) In an Oscars ceremony filled with surprises, the unexpected took center stage when John Cena, known for his role in Barbie, presented the award for Best Costume Design in a rather unconventional manner – completely naked.
Host Jimmy Kimmel, orchestrating the unpredictable moment, encouraged Cena to embrace the unusual ‘bit,’ alluding to a streaker’s appearance on stage in 1974. When Cena initially hesitated, Kimmel quipped, “What’s going on? You’re supposed to run across the stage?” Cena responded, “I changed my mind, I don’t want to do the streaker thing.”
