UPDATE
22-4-2024 (SINGAPORE) Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Monday (22 April), involving four cars, a van, and a minibus.
According to Yahoo Southeast Asia, authorities confirmed that a 17-year-old female car passenger and a 57-year-old female van passenger succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
The deceased car passenger, a first-year student from Temasek Junior College (TJC), was en route to participate in the annual TJC Run when the accident occurred, as reported by The Straits Times. The second victim was associated with First Choice Pest Specialist, a local pest control firm.
In addition to the fatalities, several individuals, including car drivers and passengers of varying ages, were transported to hospitals for treatment. The 42-year-old male car driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded promptly to the scene, providing assistance and freeing a trapped individual whose leg was pinned under a car wheel. SCDF commended the public, including a nurse and off-duty officers, for their assistance.
