The chilling ordeal unfolded late one night as the young woman, identified only by the pseudonym “B,” was working a shift at a women-only facility within a local hospital. According to her account, shared on social media and garnering widespread attention, a male nurse assistant attempted to molest her, escalating to a physical assault when she resisted his advances.
The 31-second video footage, which has since gone viral, captures the intense confrontation as the assailant grabs “B” by the neck, prompting her to employ a series of defensive manoeuvres learned from her grandfather’s Muay Thai teachings.
In a split-second reaction, “B” can be seen clawing at the perpetrator’s face and twisting his wrist before delivering a decisive knee strike, ultimately forcing him to release his grip and retreat.
The harrowing incident occurred during a routine shift change around midnight, when “B” had briefly stepped away from her duties to procure a meal from a nearby restaurant. It was there that the alleged assailant, who had been consuming alcohol, offered to deliver her food to the women’s facility, claiming to be heading in that direction for his own shift.
Unsuspectingly, “B” agreed, unaware of the impending danger that awaited her upon the man’s arrival. Despite the building’s strict policy prohibiting male visitors, the perpetrator was able to circumvent security measures due to his familiarity with the staff, raising no initial suspicions.
However, as the dimly lit night progressed, the situation took a sinister turn when the male nurse assistant made his move, grabbing “B” by the neck in a secluded area outside the facility while her colleagues remained occupied attending to patients.
It was at this critical moment that “B’s” Muay Thai training, instilled from a young age by her grandfather, a former practitioner of the revered Thai martial art, proved invaluable.
