19-12-2023 (BANGKOK) Chaithawat Tulathon, the leader of the Move Forward Party, has been appointed as the opposition leader and will be officially recognized in a ceremony on Wednesday, as announced by Chaithawat himself during a press conference on Monday.
Chaithawat revealed that he was informed by the House Secretariat that a royal command, signed by His Majesty the King, had been issued to appoint him as the opposition leader.
To acknowledge this royal command, a ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 am. However, due to prior commitments with House and party meetings on Tuesday, lawmakers will gather the following day to formally recognize Chaithawat’s appointment.
Expressing his plans as the opposition leader, Chaithawat stated that his first course of action would be to convene a meeting with key members from all opposition parties. This meeting is scheduled to take place one day before the commencement of the long New Year holidays.
