27-11-2025 (MEXICO) The Miss Universe Organization has been rocked by scandal after arrest warrants and investigations were opened against co-owners Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip of Thailand and Raul Rocha Cantu of Mexico concerning serious financial and organized crime allegations. Jakrajutatip, a media mogul whose JKN Global Group co-owns the pageant, is reportedly facing an arrest warrant in Thailand for alleged fraud amounting to $930,000, stemming from claims she concealed information to secure investment in her company.
Simultaneously, co-owner Raul Rocha Cantu is under investigation by Mexico’s federal prosecutor’s office for alleged involvement in arms, drug, and fuel trafficking, according to reports, including those filed by the Bangkok Post. The scandal breaks just days after the 2025 Miss Universe pageant concluded, overshadowing the recent crowning of Miss Mexico. Rocha Cantu’s Legacy Holding Group USA acquired a 50% stake in the organization in 2024 from JKN Global Group, which originally purchased the organization for $20 million in 2022.
The global beauty pageant now faces intense scrutiny as authorities in both countries proceed with their respective investigations.
