20-11-2023 (SAN FRANCISCO) Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced the hiring of Sam Altman, formerly of OpenAI, and several members of his team. This decision comes just days after Altman, the co-founder of the venture behind ChatGPT, was dismissed from his position.
Altman, who gained prominence with the successful launch of the artificial intelligence chatbot last year, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his determination, stating, “The mission continues.”
Nadella, in a post on X, revealed that Altman would be joining Microsoft to lead a newly formed advanced AI research team. He also mentioned that OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and other colleagues would be joining Altman in this endeavor.
Altman’s dismissal from OpenAI’s board on Friday triggered a series of high-profile departures from the company. It also reportedly led major investors to advocate for his reinstatement, highlighting his significance within the organization.
