17-6-2023 (MANILA) The Mayon volcano in the Philippines remains active, with ongoing lava eruptions and a series of volcanic quakes, as reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Saturday.
PHIVOLCS has kept the alert level at 3, indicating that the volcano is exhibiting relatively high unrest and could potentially lead to a hazardous eruption. Within the past 24 hours, the institute has also recorded 280 instances of rockfalls in the vicinity of the volcano.
