18-8-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a significant operation, the police conducted a raid at a bungalow-turned-drug laboratory near here, resulting in the seizure of about RM30 million (S$8.7million) worth of Eramin 5 pills. The Bukit Aman Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) led the operation, which also led to the arrest of two individuals, both aged 44.
Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Kamarudin Md Din, the Director of NCID, revealed that during the raid on Tuesday (Aug 15), approximately 413kg of Eramin 5 pills and 25kg of the drugs in powdered form were confiscated. The two arrested men are believed to be involved in the processing and distribution of the drugs.
Addressing the press conference at the Perak police contingent headquarters on Friday (Aug 18), Comm Mohd Kamarudin expressed confidence that the drug laboratory had been dismantled and a syndicate had been taken down as a result of the arrests and drug seizure.

Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and had previous records of involvement in various crimes, according to Comm Mohd Kamarudin. The seized drugs were believed to be distributed locally as well as outside of the state, potentially catering to approximately 2.2 million users.
In addition to the drugs, the police also confiscated equipment suspected to be used in the processing and packaging of the illicit substances. They discovered two fake rifles, a car, a motorcycle, two rings, and approximately RM1,624 in cash. The case will be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act and Section 36 of the Arms Act.
To facilitate the ongoing investigations, the police have obtained a court order to remand the suspects for six days, starting from August 16.
