12-8-2023 (SINGAPORE) In a major operation conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), 49 men were apprehended at a hotel villa on Sentosa Island in Singapore on suspected drug-related charges. The CNB, in a news release, revealed that the arrests were made following a tip-off.
Acting swiftly on the information received, the police conducted checks at the villa on Wednesday morning. During the search, controlled drugs along with drug paraphernalia were discovered within the premises. The substances seized during the operation included ecstasy, ketamine, and other related items.
One of the handout photos provided by the CNB showcased an invitation to the party, which is believed to have been organized through a closed chat group platform. The agency has not disclosed the name of the hotel where the incident occurred, but it confirmed that investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are currently underway.

Out of the 49 individuals arrested, their ages range from 21 to 46. Notably, 35 of them are Singaporean nationals. The CNB emphasized that arranging gatherings for drug abuse is considered an offense, as is permitting premises to be used for drug abuse or drug trafficking, which applies to the owner, tenant, or occupier of the premises.
This significant drug bust serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related activities and maintain the safety and well-being of Singaporean society. The CNB, in collaboration with other relevant authorities, remains dedicated to upholding the law and curbing the menace of illicit drugs within the country.
