22-7-2023 (BANGKOK) The Match of Legends, featuring a showdown between boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and Muay Thai fighter Buakaw Banchamek, is set to take place in Thailand in January next year, according to Fresh Air Festival Co, Ltd, the event’s organizers.
Pacquiao, who has won 12 major titles in eight weight classes, retired from boxing with a 62-8-2 record. Buakaw, on the other hand, is a true icon in the world of Muay Thai and kickboxing, having won multiple championships and titles.
The match between the two legendary fighters will be fought under international boxing rules, making it an even more intriguing event for fans of combat sports.
Vinij Lertratanachai, CEO of Fresh Air Festival Co, Ltd, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, saying, “The Match of Legends is a new event concept geared towards attracting combat sports icons for a match.”
Suvit Thongrompo, chief marketing officer of Thailand’s leading cinema operator SF Corporation Plc, who has joined forces with Fresh Air Festival in staging the January clash in Thailand, also expressed his belief that the fight between Pacquiao and Buakaw will undoubtedly go down in history.
Pacquiao, a national hero in the Philippines, has become a boxing legend and an inspiration to athletes and fans worldwide. Buakaw, on the other hand, is considered one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time, known for his explosive kicks, razor-sharp elbows, and impeccable technique.
