Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, as Organiser has been reporting similar cases involving individuals from the Islamist community for some time now. Here are a few noteworthy cases:
Over the past four months, four cases of cow rape have been reported. In one instance, a man named Hasan Khan committed the act in the Durg district on May 28.
Following the widespread circulation of the video on the internet, the police took swift action. Hasan Khan was apprehended on May 30 in the Gondia district of Maharashtra.
Based on the investigation, the police identified Hasan Khan as a cloth vendor originally from Delhi. He had been residing in the Housing Board Colony.
The release of the video prompted strong reactions from members of Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, who demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrator at Jamul police station.
Notably, Chhattisgarh has witnessed multiple such incidents. In March, Organiser reported two cases from the Bhilai and Balod districts.
An FIR (number – 31/2023) was registered at the Bhilai Bhatti police station in the Durg District of Chhattisgarh. According to the complaint, Mohammad Sahil (18), Satish Chandra Das (20), and two minors were caught engaging in the act of cow rape on the night of March 7.
Similarly, a case was reported from the Balod District of Chhattisgarh on February 28. An FIR (number – 93/2023) was registered at the Balod police station.
Umesh Kumar Sen, District head of Bajrang Dal, shared a video of another incident with Organiser Weekly. This incident took place on February 25.
In July 2022, Sheh-e-Alam, a truck driver, committed the act of cow rape in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh. When confronted by the locals, Alam begged for mercy.
Another incident occurred in the Azad Chowk police station area of Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, in October 2022. The accused was identified as Mohammad Kamal.
In another case from Raipur in October 2022, an accused named Ram Prasad Maravi was arrested by the police on charges of rape. He was caught by locals after he tied the legs of a calf and was about to commit the act. A case was registered against him under section 377 of the IPC and the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act.
