20-4-2024 (MANILA) A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday morning, as a man, identified as Junrey Jimeno, 27, hailing from T. Padilla, Cebu City, fell victim to a fatal shooting along the bustling General Maxilom Avenue. Jimeno, known to many as a bar DJ in the city, was reportedly making his way home after a night’s work when the harrowing event occurred.
The scene, fraught with disbelief and sorrow, occurred shortly after 5:00 am. Police Senior Master Sergeant Jephta Jumawan, who is spearheading the investigation, recounted that Jimeno and a companion were en route to retrieve Jimeno’s parked motorcycle from a nearby food establishment when they encountered an unidentified assailant on a motorcycle.
Eyewitness testimony revealed a sudden and chilling encounter, as the assailant, without provocation, aimed a single shot at Jimeno, striking him in the head. The gravity of the wound was immediate, causing Jimeno to collapse on the pavement. In a brazen act, the assailant swiftly fled the scene, disappearing into the darkness of the early morning, leaving behind a trail of shock and devastation.

His father, Reynaldo, expressed disbelief, recounting how his son had been merely preparing to head home after a routine night of work.
