26-10-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysians have been demonstrating their unwavering support for the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing conflict with Israel, with numerous physical rallies and protests taking place throughout the country. However, some Malaysians, particularly the youth, have also embraced digital platforms to express their solidarity.
One such display of support was documented by a netizen known as Nuha, who shared her findings on TikTok. Nuha’s video shed light on how Malaysian children have turned to the online gaming platform Roblox to voice their desire for a free Palestine.
In her TikTok post, Nuha wrote, “Kids in Malaysia are protesting on Roblox for a free Palestine.”
The video showcased a sizable group of players, comprising both Malaysians and international users, congregating and running through a Roblox server. They carried Palestinian and Malaysian flags in a virtual demonstration of their support. Banners with the message, “Solidarity untukmu, Palestine” (Solidarity for you, Palestine), were also strategically placed throughout the digital landscape.
@screenshothq Children have begun organising their own pro-Palestine protests in Roblox, in the wake of the ongoing Israel-Palestine war. Hundreds of children are protesting in virtual worlds to supplement the fact that they cannot attend protests in real life. #palestinetiktok #roblox #robloxmarch #palestine #robloxpalestine ♬ you not the same – tilekid
