12-9-2023 (SINGAPORE) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to visit Singapore on Wednesday to participate in the 10th Asia Summit organized by the renowned think tank, Milken Institute. The three-day conference, taking place from September 13 to 15, will convene policymakers, industry leaders, and academics from diverse fields to engage in discussions on critical topics such as digitalization, global inequality, public health, and environmental sustainability.
During his visit, Prime Minister Anwar, accompanied by his wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, will be invited for a tea gathering hosted by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in a press statement on Tuesday. Joining Prime Minister Anwar will be Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Tengku Zafrul Aziz, and Foreign Affairs Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir.
This visit marks Prime Minister Anwar’s second official trip to Singapore since assuming office. His previous visit on January 30 was notable, as it witnessed the signing of bilateral agreements between Malaysia and Singapore concerning digital and green economies, as well as cybersecurity. The meeting between Prime Minister Anwar and Prime Minister Lee at that time reaffirmed the enduring friendship between the two countries, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Asia Summit organized by the Milken Institute provides a platform for regional leaders to exchange insights, foster collaboration, and address key challenges facing Asia and the global community.
