26-5-2023 (Kuala Lumpur) In a tragic and horrific incident, a Malaysian man is believed to have brutally murdered his pregnant lover after a disagreement over her pregnancy. The suspect, a 20-year-old man who had recently completed his studies at a local college, was arrested by the police on Tuesday following the discovery of a partially burnt body in an oil palm plantation in Sungai Besar, Selangor.
Disturbing images of the charred remains of a woman lying on a burnt patch of grass circulated online, sparking shock and outrage. According to preliminary investigations, the victim, a 21-year-old waitress at a local restaurant, had been having an affair with the suspect. They had known each other for approximately a year, and she was around four months pregnant at the time of her tragic demise. The police revealed a photograph of an ultrasound scan taken just days before the murder, highlighting the cruel loss of an innocent life.
Authorities have reported that the suspect allegedly drove the pregnant woman to the plantation on Monday, where an argument erupted in his car. The disagreement escalated, leading to a violent confrontation. The suspect viciously beat the victim until she lost consciousness around 10 p.m. However, the brutality did not stop there.

In a shocking display of cruelty, the suspect proceeded to slash the woman’s abdomen with a kitchen knife, disembowelling her. To cover his tracks and destroy evidence, he then set her body on fire using petrol. The next day, he returned to the crime scene on a motorcycle and attempted to further burn the remains. Witnesses who discovered the body reported that it was still ablaze.
After discarding the murder weapon and other incriminating evidence a few kilometers away from the plantation, the suspect sought refuge at a relative’s house. However, the police apprehended him at around 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Initial investigations indicate that he acted alone in committing this heinous crime. He has tested negative for drug use and has no prior criminal record. The suspect has been remanded until Monday to aid in the murder investigation. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty.
The victim’s body, which was reported to be 60 percent burnt, has been transported to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for forensic examinations. A photograph of the victim has circulated online, generating a sense of grief and outrage among netizens.
Meanwhile, Malaysian online users uncovered the alleged offender’s TikTok account, where he identifies himself as having the soul of a “rempit,” referring to a subculture of motorcycle riders in the country. Several videos on his account feature a woman referred to as “The Girlfriend,” who is not the murder victim. Another account, believed to belong to the suspect’s girlfriend, contains a video screenshot of a chat between the two, with the girlfriend advising him not to seek someone else if he is heartbroken and expressing gratitude for his love.
A neighbor of the murdered woman, speaking to Malaysian newspaper Berita Harian, described her as an orphan who lived with two siblings. The neighbor further characterized her as a woman of few words, adding to the sorrow surrounding her untimely demise.
