10-8-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a heartwarming gesture, a Malaysian YouTuber has gifted his girlfriend an electric car, demonstrating his commitment to her financial independence. The YouTuber, known as Dashen, shared the heartwarming moment in a video uploaded on Sunday, August 6.
Dashen explained that he chose to buy a car, specifically the Ora Good Cat model, for his girlfriend named Miki. He revealed that Miki did not have her own car and he often had to act as her chauffeur. To support her independence, Dashen generously offered to cover the RM100,000 (S$ 29,447) down payment, while Miki would be responsible for the remaining payments.
“I would pay half for the car, and she would have to finish paying off the car herself. I’m not gifting her the entire car as I want her to service the loan and learn to grow up,” Dashen explained.
On the day of the surprise, Dashen blindfolded Miki and led her outside their home. As he removed the blindfold, Miki was astonished to see the electric car parked in front of her. Overwhelmed with disbelief, she questioned whether Dashen was playing a prank on her. However, he assured her that the gift was real and that she would need to finance half of the car’s installments.
To further validate the gift, Dashen handed Miki the car keys, and as she pressed a button, the car’s lights illuminated, confirming its authenticity. In the subsequent week, Miki had the opportunity to drive the electric car and expressed her admiration for its feminine design and advanced safety features. In a playful manner, she jokingly remarked that Dashen had given her “half a gift.”
This heartwarming gesture of gifting an electric car showcases Dashen’s commitment to supporting Miki’s independence and highlights the significance of financial empowerment within relationships. The video of the surprise gift has garnered attention and admiration on social media platforms.
