21-2-2024 (BANGKOK) The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) of the Thai police apprehended a 53-year-old Malaysian man, Lee Woon Earnx, at his condominium in Bangkok. Lee was wanted for the heinous crimes of raping his Thai ex-wife, stealing 1.2 million baht from her, and brutally stabbing her dog at a residence in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat last year.
Lee’s arrest followed an existing warrant issued after he broke into his ex-wife’s house in the Thasala district of Nakhon Si Thammarat on March 9 of the previous year. On that fateful day, Lee unlawfully entered the residence and confronted his ex-wife, Noon, brandishing a knife. He proceeded to rape her, subjecting her to a terrifying ordeal.
After the sexual assault, Lee bound Noon with a chain and coerced her into revealing the whereabouts of her hidden money. In a desperate bid to save her life, Noon surrendered her savings of 1.2 million baht in cash to Lee. Shockingly, Lee then callously attacked Noon’s dog, throwing a chair at it and stabbing the defenseless animal.
The commotion and screams alerted neighbors who rushed to Noon’s aid. Lee, in a menacing display, threatened both Noon and her neighbors before fleeing the scene. In response to the traumatic incident, Noon filed a formal complaint against her ex-husband at Thasala Police Station, seeking justice for the brutal assault.
Police officers diligently pursued the case, eventually locating Lee hiding in a condominium in Bangkok’s Huay Kwang district. Thasala Police Station coordinated with their counterparts in Bangkok, leading to Lee’s arrest on February 20 at his place of residence. Despite facing overwhelming evidence, Lee vehemently denied all charges leveled against him. However, the investigating officers remained unconvinced by his pleas of innocence.
