20-1-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysian DJ Jack Lim confronted a man who was caught taking upskirt videos of influencers during a movie event, sparking a heated confrontation that led to the suspect’s apprehension. The incident shed light on the issue of voyeurism and raised concerns about women’s safety in public spaces.
The disturbing incident took place during a promotional event for a movie, where the perpetrator was discovered secretly recording videos under the skirts of various celebrities. Among the victims were influencers Han Xiaoai, Joey Kong, and Nicole Liu, as well as several assistants and female attendees.
Han Xiaoai took to Instagram, sharing a screenshot from a video that revealed multiple upskirt videos found on the perpetrator’s phone. It was alleged that the suspect used a paper bag to conceal his phone while attempting to get close enough to record the illicit videos.
Once the voyeur was caught in the act, Malaysian actor Jack Lim, accompanied by his new artist Henry and a delivery rider, confronted and detained the suspect. In a video posted on Jack’s social media, the suspect can be seen attempting to hide his face before being taken to the police station.
Expressing his outrage at the perpetrator’s actions, Jack Lim admitted in a Facebook post to physically assaulting the voyeur and accepting the potential legal consequences. He remained at the police station throughout the investigation, expressing regret for his violent response but emphasizing the importance of protecting others from such “crazy perverts.”
Jack’s actions highlighted the growing concern over public safety, with several recent incidents, such as a woman being raped while crossing a pedestrian overpass and another woman being followed into a restroom. Despite acknowledging that physical action was not within his authority, Jack stood firm in his stance against voyeurism and harassment.
Han Xiaoai also used her platform to expose the perpetrator and encouraged other victims to come forward. She assisted the police in identifying additional victims, aiming to prevent the unauthorized sharing of the recorded footage.
