15-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a heartwarming tale of eternal love, an elderly couple from Malaysia, who had shared a lifetime of affection and companionship for over fifty years, bid farewell to this world on the same day, with a remarkable twelve-hour gap between their passings.
On the morning of the 11th of this month, Mr. Wong Sin Fatt peacefully departed from this world at the age of 102, in the comfort of his home. His wife, Ms. Yee Rui Bao, aged 94, who had been hospitalized due to health issues, also peacefully passed away around 6 p.m. on the same day, upon learning of her husband’s departure. The couple had resided in Petaling Jaya throughout their lives and had been blessed with five sons and one daughter. Their loving family has now expanded to the fourth generation, comprising nearly 50 descendants.
Following traditional customs, the family recently held a joyful mourning ceremony to celebrate the lives of Mr. Wong Sin Fatt and Ms. Yee Rui Bao, allowing them to begin their journey to the afterlife with happiness and fond memories.
Yesterday, at 10 a.m., the wake for the couple took place, where dozens of their descendants, dressed in red attire, bid their final farewells. The remains of Mr. Wong Sin Fatt and Ms. Yee Rui Bao were laid to rest at the Bukit Gasing Memorial Park, honoring their eternal bond.
During an interview, Ms. Chang and Ms. Wu, the second and third daughter-in-law of Mr. Wong Sin Fatt, shared that their mother-in-law had been hospitalized for a week due to illness. “Upon hearing of her husband’s passing, tears welled up in her eyes, and she too departed from this world on the same day,” they recounted in an interview with Sin Chew Daily.
The daughter-in-laws further revealed that their father-in-law and mother-in-law had been married for over 80 years, a testament to their remarkable love and unwavering commitment. The couple was inseparable, accompanying each other on every journey and providing unwavering support along the way.
