15-9-2023 (SINGAPORE) Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has conducted a major operation resulting in the arrest of 58 individuals suspected of drug-related offences. This operation, spanning from September 11 to September 15, has sent shockwaves through the city-state.
In an official statement released on Friday, the CNB revealed the alarming details of the operation. Among those apprehended was a 15-year-old student, raising concerns about the extent of drug-related issues even among the younger generation.
The CNB’s relentless efforts bore fruit as they successfully confiscated a substantial quantity of illicit substances. The haul included approximately 708 grams of heroin, 670 grams of Ice, 63 grams of cannabis, and 25 grams of ketamine, along with other narcotics. The total estimated street value of these seized drugs stands at a staggering 294,000 Singapore dollars, which equates to approximately 215,700 U.S. dollars.
The bureau’s statement underscores the severity of the situation, emphasizing that investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
