28-9-2023 (MANILA) Authorities in the Philippines have made a significant drug seizure at Manila’s international airport, uncovering 14.36 kilograms of cocaine allegedly being smuggled by two Singaporean women.
According to an initial report from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, the suspects, aged 63 and 39, had recently arrived from Doha, Qatar.
The illicit drugs, hidden in 341 pellets distributed within four cookie cans and two cylindrical chip containers, are estimated to be worth over 76 million pesos, which is roughly equivalent to 1.3 million U.S. dollars, as stated in the report.
The discovery of these illegal items was made possible through the X-ray inspection process
