11-11-2024 (JAKARTA) A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck off the coast of eastern Indonesia early Monday morning, with its epicentre located 125 kilometres northwest of Tual City in the Maluku region, according to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).
The seismic event, recorded at 05:35 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), occurred at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres. BMKG officials pinpointed the earthquake’s coordinates at 4.78 degrees south latitude and 132.01 degrees east longitude.
