The 25-year-old artist’s generous act, which amounted to S$3,460, has shed light on the challenges faced by small business owners in the beauty industry.
The recipient of Beer’s benevolence was Hazel Wah, the 21-year-old proprietor of Edens’ Atelier Co, located in the Aljunied area of Singapore. Wah recently took to Instagram to share her extraordinary encounter with the international pop sensation.
According to Wah’s account, her salon had been grappling with financial difficulties following a recent relocation to larger premises. The young entrepreneur revealed that she had been left in a precarious position after a former business partner reneged on their initial agreement, resulting in a substantial loss of S$20,000. To make ends meet, Wah found herself working gruelling 12-hour shifts.

Just as Wah was contemplating downsizing her business, an unexpected message arrived in her Instagram inbox. It was none other than Madison Beer, reaching out for an urgent manicure before her performance at the Singapore Expo.
Wah described the encounter as “surreal and amazing”, praising Beer for her genuine kindness and friendliness. The two reportedly engaged in lengthy conversations during the nail appointment, forming an instant connection.
Impressed by Wah’s skill and demeanour, Beer not only gave the salon a shoutout on her Instagram account but also returned for a second visit. It was during this follow-up appointment that Wah confided in Beer about her financial struggles.
In a move that left Wah astounded, Beer quietly arranged for her agency to transfer S$3,460 to the salon owner. The sum covered not only the cost of the nail services but also an entire month’s rent for the salon. Beer’s message to Wah read, “Also covered your rent for the month. Let me know you got it. Love you n thank you again for everything.”
When Wah attempted to return the money, Beer steadfastly refused, insisting that the young entrepreneur keep the funds.
This act of generosity has not gone unnoticed by the public. Social media users have been quick to praise Beer, with comments describing her as “sweet”, “an angel”, and “a beautiful person inside and out”.
