8-2-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour has garnered massive crowds, prompting the popular British alternative rock band to introduce sustainability initiatives that could make a significant impact.
During each concert, Coldplay encourages attendees to return their wristbands before departing the venue. These wristbands, as reported by Life Style Asia, are crafted from 100% biodegradable, plant-based materials and are designed for reuse at every Coldplay event.
At each subsequent event, the concert organisers showcase a “Wristband Recycling Leaderboard” on the big screen, revealing the return rate of wristbands from previous performances. Surprisingly, Kuala Lumpur’s performance last year registered one of the lowest return rates, as disclosed during Coldplay’s recent six-day concert in Singapore. The event in Kuala Lumpur ranked at the bottom among the band’s four previous concerts, with a return rate of 90 percent.
In another report, the concert in Kuala Lumpur recorded a 91 percent return rate, as disclosed during Coldplay’s most recent concert held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Meanwhile, Tokyo leads the recycling leaderboards with an impressive 97 percent return rate, followed closely by Copenhagen with 96 percent.
